<span><span><span><span><span><span>The Znam’yanka community in the Kirovohrad region has declared a Day of Mourning following the deaths of employees of JSC “Odesa Railway” in an enemy attack in the Odesa region. Engineer Vasyl Morozov and assistant engineer Ivan Shevchyk lost their lives while performing their duties. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>On August 14, Ukrainian national flags were flown at half-mast on buildings of enterprises, institutions, and organizations throughout the community. Entertainment and concert events were also canceled or restricted on that day.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

The railroad workers tried to move the train and its passengers out of harm’s way, and they succeeded. However, they themselves did not have enough time to evacuate. </span></span></span></span></span></span>
The train’s 340 passengers were evacuated and later transported to Odesa by bus.An Intent photojournalistmet the evacuated passengers at the Odesa train station and spoke with them.
According to them, the attacks took place near Buyalik Station in the Berezivsky District. Due to air raid alerts and the threat of further strikes, people were evacuatedfrom the trains several times. After the train stopped, passengers were initially led off the train at a stop approximately three kilometers from the scene.
According to the State Emergency Service, Russian forces struck another passenger train in the Berezivsky District for the second time that day. A child was injured in the attack.
