The Voznesensk community has established a special commission to review complaints regarding gender-based discrimination, gender-based violence, and sexual harassment.

This was reported by the press service of the Voznesensk City Council.

The decision was adopted by the mayor’s order No. 119-r dated May 28, 2026.

The city council noted that community residents who have been victims of discrimination, gender-based violence, or sexual harassment may contact the commission via email.

To do so, send a message to the following address.

All appeals will be reviewed in accordance with established procedures. Based on the results of their review, the commission will prepare proposals on how to respond to identified cases and prevent similar violations in the future.

The Voznesensk City Council urged citizens not to face the problem alone and to seek help and support in the event of a violation of their rights.

Recently, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights,Dmytro Lubinets, highlighted serious issues in Ukraine’s state policy regarding internally displaced persons and citizens remaining in temporarily occupied territories.

Discrimination based on sex is a situation in which a person or group of persons, on the basis of sex that was, are, or may be, real or presumed, is restricted in the recognition, exercise, or enjoyment of rights, freedoms, or privileges in any form established by the Law of Ukraine “On the Principles of Preventing andCombating Discriminationin Ukraine,” except in cases where such restrictions or privileges have a legitimate, objectively justified purpose, the means of achieving which are appropriate and necessary.

Discrimination on the basis of sex is prohibited by the Law of Ukraine “On EnsuringEqual Rights and Opportunitiesfor Women and Men”
