A bidding process for the reconstruction of a pumping station in Tairov was canceled. The tender, worth over 57 million, was canceled because no bids were submitted.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations.
The Tairov Town Council announced the tender in July. The work was to be carried out at the sewage pumping station located on the grounds of the wastewater treatment plant at 16 Naberezhna Street. The estimated cost of the reconstruction was 57.3 million hryvnias excluding VAT, and completion was scheduled for August 31, 2027.
The project was to be funded from the community budget as part of the housing and utilities development program. The total funding allocated for this program is 68.78 million hryvnias.
The contractor was to be selected based on the lowest bid. Bidders were required to confirm that they had qualified personnel, experience performing similar work, and financial capacity. Payment was to be made within 20 business days after completion of the work. However, by the August 3 deadline for submitting bids, no company had submitted a proposal, so the tender was automatically canceled.
Accordingto theInvestment Map, the Tairovska community’s wastewater treatment plant operates using equipment that is over 50 years old. The project already has the necessary documentation, and once upgraded, the system will ensure stable sewage service for more than 6,800 residents and help prevent environmental pollution. The project cost is $1.43 million.
According toDREAM, the total cost of the project is 59.4 million hryvnias, of which 16 million have already been funded from the local budget.
A similar situation occurred in Mykolaiv. The Capital Construction Department was unable to select a contractor to build a shelter for Kindergarten No. 75. The only bid submitted for the tender was rejected because it exceeded the approved budget.
