The municipal enterprise in Kherson that cares for stray animals has secured new sources of funding. The expenditure plan now includes the purchase of equipment and payment for an expert study, and certain previously planned expenditures have been revised.

Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration, signed an order amending the 2026 Work Plan of the City Council’s Department of Municipal Services under the budget program “Other Activities in the Field of Housing and Municipal Services.”

The document was adopted to ensure more efficient use of budget funds and to implement the Comprehensive Program for the Sustainable Operation of Housing and Utilities in the Kherson City Territorial Community. The changes relate to financial support for the municipal utility company “Garantia.”

According to the resolution, two new funding areas were added to the plan. 5,000 hryvnias were allocated for a transportation and commodity research study, and 2,904 hryvnias for the purchase of a scale.

Additionally, certain previously approved expense items have been updated. 11,818 hryvnias have been allocated for the company’s vehicle insurance, and 1,182 hryvnias for vehicle repairs and maintenance.

Furthermore, the document allocates 15,168 hryvnias for the purchase of food for the dogs under the company’s care, as well as 52,688 hryvnias for materials to equip the animal shelter.

The total amount of financial support for the “Garantia” Municipal Enterprise under the relevant budget program is 5.66 million hryvnias, while total expenditures under budget code 2610 amount to 117.78 million hryvnias. The total funding under the program, following the amendments, amounts to 118.7 million hryvnias.

Also in June, Kherson allocated over 118 million hryvnias for 2026 to support municipal enterprises and institutions. The largest share of funds will be allocated to the “Parks of Kherson” municipal enterprise, outdoor lighting, the control of the stray animal population, and the maintenance of the landfill,
