The Revolution of Dignity: History and Consequences
The Revolution of Dignity is a series of mass civic protests and socio-political changes in Ukraine from November 2013 to February 2014, which began as a response to the dispersal of student demonstrations and the government's departure from the course of European integration. The movement was a reaction to the authoritarianism of President Yanukovych, the concentration of power in his hands, and the threat of Ukraine losing its independence. The Revolution of Dignity became a turning point in Ukrainian history, leading to changes in political leadership and influencing the subsequent development of the state, including the annexation of Crimea and the military conflict in the east.
