Events at the UN Security Council

The UN Security Council is the principal organ of the United Nations responsible for international peace and security. It consists of five permanent members (the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China, and Russia) and ten non-permanent members elected for two-year terms. The Council addresses international conflicts, threats to peace, and adopts resolutions regarding their resolution. Ukraine regularly appeals to the Security Council on matters of Russian aggression and violations of international law.
