A nature reserve is a nature conservation zone where partial protection of animals, plants, and other natural resources is implemented. Unlike nature preserves, nature reserves can be permanent or temporary and allow limited economic use of the territory. Such objects are created to preserve biodiversity, landscapes, and ecosystems of the region. In Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions, a network of botanical, landscape, and other types of nature reserves is actively developing.
