Preventive measures in criminal cases
Preventive measures are measures to ensure criminal proceedings that are applied by a court or investigating judge to temporarily restrict the rights of persons against whom there is reasonable suspicion of committing a criminal offense. They aim to stop and prevent new crimes, ensure the appearance of the accused in court and their proper conduct. Preventive measures include personal obligation, personal surety, bail, house arrest, and detention in custody. The choice of a specific measure depends on the severity of the offense, flight risks, and other circumstances of the case.
