Memorial plaques and commemorative tablets
A memorial plaque is a plate made of durable material (stone, metal) installed on buildings or in public places to commemorate the memory of outstanding people or important historical events. In Ukraine, memorial plaques are often dedicated to heroes, liberators, cultural figures, and victims of military conflicts. The installation and removal of such plaques frequently become subjects of public discussion, especially in the context of decommunization and the reinterpretation of historical memory in Ukrainian cities.
