Deputy mandates and powers

mandate

A deputy's mandate is a time-limited authorization received by an elected person to exercise representative power in local government bodies and parliament. The mandate certifies the legality of representing the people and gives the deputy the right to vote, introduce bills, and participate in council work. A deputy may voluntarily renounce their mandate or lose it through violation of the law, change of residence, or other grounds provided by law. This page contains news about changes in the composition of deputy councils in southern regions of Ukraine.
