Kherson Local History Museum

The Kherson Regional Museum is a regional museum that preserves the largest collection of materials, evidence, and artifacts from the history and culture of the Kherson region. Founded in 1963 on the basis of the Archaeological Museum (1890) and the Natural History Museum, it is one of the most renowned museum treasures of Southern Ukraine. During the occupation, the museum suffered significant losses: the occupiers burned display cases, destroyed a third of the exhibition, and looted collections. The museum continues to operate, preserving the cultural heritage of the region despite military losses.
