Kamianska Sich

Kamyanska Sich was a historical administrative and military center of the Zaporozhian Cossack Host of the Lower Dnieper, located at the mouth of the Kamyanka River in the territory of present-day Kherson Oblast. The Sich functioned as the main base of the Zaporozhian Cossacks in the first third of the 18th century under the protection of the Crimean Khanate. Today, the location of Kamyanska Sich is situated near the village of Respublikantsi in the Berislav District. This historical site is an important monument to the Cossack heritage of southern Ukraine.
