Events poster at Kakhovka Reservoir
Kakhovka Reservoir is one of the largest reservoirs on the Dnieper River, located in the territories of Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions. It was created in the 1950s and destroyed by Russian occupiers during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. After the Kakhovka HPP dam was blown up, the reservoir territory transformed into a unique ecosystem where nature is recovering and rare species of plants and animals are being discovered. This area remains an important object of ecological monitoring and discussion of the region's future development.
