Izmail Region
Izmail Region — a former administrative unit of the Ukrainian SSR that existed from 1940 to 1954 in the territory of southern Bessarabia. Initially established as Akkerman Region, it was later renamed to Izmail Region. The center was Akkerman (now Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky). This tag combines materials about the history and present day of this region of Budjak.
