Identification of the deceased is the process of establishing the identity of persons who died during military operations, disasters, or other tragic events. On the territory of Ukraine, especially in regions affected by armed conflict, this work is critically important for providing assistance to families and maintaining official statistics of losses. Identification is conducted by specialized institutions using various methods, including forensic examination and DNA analysis.
