Hazardous waste and its disposal
Hazardous waste refers to materials and substances that possess toxic, explosive, flammable, or other harmful properties and pose a significant threat to the environment and human health. Such waste requires special methods of handling, storage, and disposal. In southern Ukraine, particularly in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, the problem of hazardous waste remains relevant — from Soviet-era chemicals at landfills to unauthorized dumping of industrial materials.
