Fuel oil
Fuel oil is a heavy petroleum product used as fuel for industrial boilers and power generation facilities. In the territory of Ukraine and the Black Sea, the fuel oil problem has become particularly acute due to accidents involving Russian tankers and spills from damaged vessels that contaminate the coasts of Crimea and Odesa region. The environmental consequences of such spills pose a serious threat to the marine ecosystem and coastal areas.
