Ecocide in Ukraine and its consequences
Ecocide is the mass destruction of the natural environment, including flora and fauna, poisoning of water resources and the atmosphere. In Odesa and Kherson regions, this term has gained particular relevance in the context of military operations, which lead to the death of marine fauna, contamination of coastal waters with oil and other pollutants. Ecocide is considered a serious environmental catastrophe with long-term consequences for the region.
