Events from the ECHR
The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) is an international judicial body whose jurisdiction extends to member states of the Council of Europe that have ratified the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The Court examines cases concerning violations of human rights, including interstate complaints and complaints from individuals. For Ukraine, the ECtHR is an important mechanism for protecting the rights of citizens and holding states accountable for violations of international law, particularly in the context of the occupation of Crimea and military operations.
