Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism

Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism is a state holiday of Ukraine, celebrated annually on May 8. It was established by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in 2023 as a symbol of victory over Nazi Germany in World War II and to honor the memory of its victims. The holiday replaced the previous Day of Victory over Nazism, which fell on May 9. It is an important day for Ukrainians, connected with the historical victory over fascism and national memory.
