Child abduction
The abduction of children is a systematic practice of forcibly displacing Ukrainian children to territories controlled by the Russian state, particularly during the full-scale invasion since 2022. Children are abducted from occupied territories, state institutions, children's camps, and following the arrest or death of their parents. Russian authorities grant abducted children Russian citizenship, forcibly adopt them into Russian families, and create obstacles to their return to their homeland. This is considered a war crime and a crime against humanity.
