Central Department Store

A department store is a universal retail establishment that traditionally is located in the city center and offers a wide range of goods from various categories. In Ukraine, department stores were important commercial and cultural centers, especially during the Soviet period. Today, many buildings of former department stores have the status of architectural heritage and are objects of public interest, particularly regarding their privatization, restoration, and further use.
