  • This week, the European Team Chess Championship ended in Batumi, Georgia. The Ukrainian team successfully performed in both events.

  • The men's team (Ruslan Ponomarev, Andriy Volokitin, Anton Korobov, Ihor Kovalenko, Ihor Samunenkov) won 7 victories with 1 draw and 1 defeat, which allowed them to win the tournament with a two-point lead and become European champions for the second time.

  • The women's national team (Yulia Osmak, Anna Ushenina, Inna Gaponenko, Natalia Zhukova, Bozhena Piddubna) won 5 victories and 4 draws. This result allowed them to become the second - only the Polish national team, which, by the way, was beaten by the Ukrainians, is ahead.
  • In addition to team awards, our chess players received a number of individual honors

  • "Chornomorets defeated Chernihiv at home with a minimum score. The only goal in the match was scored by Panamanian legionnaire Anel Rice. Odesa hold second place in the First League, two points behind Bukovyna.

  • At the age of 35, the former basketball player of the Ukrainian youth national team Denis Noskov died suddenly . During his career, Denys managed to play for a number of Ukrainian clubs, including Mykolaiv and Odesa. Noskov played for Odesa until the 2021/22 season.
