Moldova's Central Election Commission has registered a political bloc that includes former President Igor Dodon's Socialist Party to run in the parliamentary elections.
The political association is called Patriotic Socialists, Heart and Future of Moldova and includes three forces: The Socialist Party and the center-left parties Heart of Moldova and Future of Moldova, NewsMaker reported.
The publication noted that the registration of the bloc to participate in the parliamentary elections does not mean its automatic registration as a participant in the election race. Next, representatives of the bloc must submit a list of candidates for the post of deputy to the CEC. Subsequently, the CEC will decide on its registration in the election race.
On July 22, Igor Dodon (PSRM), Iryna Vlah (Republican Party "Heart of Moldova"), Vasile Tarlev (Party for the Future of Moldova), and Vladimir Voronin (Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova) announced their intention to run together in the parliamentary elections, noting that they intend to create an electoral bloc.
In July, the Central Election Commission of Moldova did not accept the application for registration for participation in the parliamentary elections of the Peremoha bloc. In addition, according to him, the holding of the congress of the Peremoha political bloc in Moscow "raised reasonable suspicions. He also reminded that the law prohibits the creation of a new political force on the basis of a party that has been recognized as unconstitutional.
The Victory Bloc was created in April 2024 in Moscow. It includes four Moldovan parties controlled by fugitive politician Ilan Shor, who was sentenced to 15 years in Moldova: Chance, Revival, Alternative Force for the Salvation of Moldova, and Victoria.
