The United Nations Security Council has decided to convene a meeting on September 24 to discuss the maintenance of peace and security in Ukraine.
The relevant information is published on the UN website.
This is a high-level briefing on the security situation in Ukraine, convened by the United States, France, Japan, Malta, the Republic of Korea, and the United Kingdom. The meeting will be chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Robert Golob, and Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is scheduled to report on the situation.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also expected to speak, and the meeting will take place while world leaders are in New York for the annual session of the UN General Assembly.

Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said during the Future Summit that the UN Security Council is outdated and its authority has been undermined. According to him, if its composition and methods of work are not reformed, it will eventually lose all credibility.
"Reforms of the peace and security system should include expanding the composition of the Security Council, improving peacekeeping operations, coordinated multilateral support for nuclear disarmament, preventing an arms race in outer space, etc.", said Antonio Guterres.
Instead, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at the Security Council meeting that this war will end not because there were any concessions, but because the UN Charter will work.
"Our right to self-defense must be realized. We have to protect our independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. We are defending what every country defends, what the UN Charter ensures. And Russia has to lie to justify its war. It cannot claim that it is according to the rules of the UN Charter. Russia cannot invoke the UN Charter to explain its actions against Ukraine," the President of Ukraine said.
