One of the things that the newly elected US President Donald Trump wants to do on his first day in office is to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table.

This was reported by AR.

The report says that Trump has repeatedly stated that he can resolve the war between Russia and Ukraine in one day. At the same time, when asked to respond to this claim, Russian Ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that "the Ukrainian crisis cannot be resolved in one day."

"Carolyn Leavitt, Trump's spokeswoman, told Fox News after Trump was declared the winner of the election on Wednesday that he would now be able to 'negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. She later said: "On day one, that includes bringing Ukraine and Russia to the table to end this war," the report said.

AR reminded that Russia invaded Ukraine almost three years ago. Trump, who has made no secret of his admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin, has criticized the Biden administration for providing Ukraine with money for the war.

In an interview with CNN in May 2023, Trump said: "They're dying, the Russians and the Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I will do it - I will do it in 24 hours." He said this would happen after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Putin.

Earlier it was reported that the future President of the United States Donald Trump won the final victory in the last "swing" state - Arizona. Republican Trump, who had received the 270 electoral college votes needed to win the White House by last Wednesday morning, is now expected to have 312 votes against Harris' 226.

It has also been said that Donald Trump's peace plan to end the war in Ukraine may include a demand to refuse to join NATO for 20 years and freeze the front line without returning the territories. However, Trump has not yet approved a specific plan, including how he will convince Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to sit down at the negotiating table.
