Representatives of Argentina, including Lilia Lemoyne, a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of Argentina, and Ivan Dubois, Advisor to the President of Argentina on Institutional Relations, expressed support for the territorial integrity and the need to restore Ukraine's sovereignty over the territories occupied by Russia.
According to the press service of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, this was discussed during a meeting of the Permanent Representative of the President Tamila Tasheva, together with the Head of the Crimean Platform's Support Service Maria Tomak, with the Argentine delegation.
The post says that the meeting was held with the assistance of the NGOs Center for Transatlantic Dialogue and Resilient Ukraine.
It is noted that during the meeting, the parties discussed the perception of the situation in Crimea in Argentina and in Latin America in general, as well as ways to counter Russian propaganda, which is active not only in Ukraine, various European countries, but also on other continents. Particular attention was paid to the need to strengthen information cooperation between Ukraine and Argentina in order to convey truthful information about the temporarily occupied Crimea and Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
During the meeting, Tamila Tasheva expressed her sincere gratitude to the representatives of Argentina for their visit to Ukraine, support and participation of Argentina in the Crimean Platform Summit, and spoke about the work of the Mission aimed at de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea, in particular, the work towards the cognitive de-occupation of the peninsula, the current challenges and needs on this path. She also emphasized the history of repression and persecution of the indigenous peoples of Ukraine, noting that today the Russian authorities use the same methods as 250 years ago, trying to destroy any reminders that destroy the myth of the peninsula's original possession by Russia.
Argentina's representatives expressed support for the territorial integrity and the need to restore Ukraine's sovereignty over the territories occupied by Russia.
At the end of the meeting, the Permanent Representative reminded about the preparation of the Crimean Platform Parliamentary Summit to be held in Riga in October 2024 and invited the representatives of Argentina to participate in it.
