Russian occupiers once again attempted to storm Ukrainian Armed Forces positions near the Antonivsky Bridge in the Kherson region, but were unsuccessful.

This was reported by the General Staff in its daily summary.

According to the General Staff, in the Dnipro sector, Ukrainian units repelled one enemy attack toward the Antonivsky Bridge.

In total, 229 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines over the past 24 hours.

In addition, the Russian army carried out 127 airstrikes, dropping 391 guided bombs. The enemy also deployed 9,192 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,001 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including 112 using multiple launch rocket systems

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), on June 13, Russian forces continued limited ground activity east of Kherson but did not advance.

Analysts also noted a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine regarding a Ukrainian military strike on a Russian drone command post in occupied Novomykolaivka on the left bank of the Kherson region.

Attacks near the Antonivsky Bridge have been ongoing for many months. In May alone, the Russians carried out over 17,000 attacks with drones and FPV drones in the Kherson sector, as well as 55 assault attacks—all of which were repelled.

In April, in the Dnipro region, the occupiers attempted five times to break through the defenses toward the bridge.

What is known about the Antonivsky Bridge

Before the full-scale war, the Antonivsky Bridge across the Dnipro was one of the main transport links between the right-bank and left-bank parts of the Kherson region.

In 2022, it was of key importance for supplying Russian forces on the right bank of the Dnipro.

After a series of strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the bridge sustained significant damage, and following the occupiers’ retreat from the right bank of the Dnipro, it lost its former logistical importance. Currently, part of the bridge’s structure remains destroyed.
