The beach in Odesa, where a woman was killed on June 23 as a result of a Russian drone attack, is not officially included on the list of places where recreational activities are permitted.

This was stated by Ihor Koval, the acting mayor of Odesa.

"I urge residents and visitors to the city to use only officially authorized recreational areas, which, as of today, do not include the beach where the tragedy occurred. But even in authorized areas, safety must come first. During the air raid alert announced today—specifically via the public address system—it was necessary to immediately leave the beach and the sea and head for shelters. Signs were posted at the scene pointing to the nearest mobile shelter and parking lot, which could be used for protection,” stated Ihor Koval.

According to city hall, the list of officially open, inspected beaches is as follows:

  • Langeron: 7 beach sections in the Dvokhariv area and the beach near the “Veranda” establishment;
