Patrolman injured in Russian strike dies in Odesa hospital

A patrol police officer in Odesa region, senior police lieutenant Denys Kharchenko, who was wounded in a Russian attack, died in hospital on the night of February 6.
This was reported by the press service of the Patrol Police Department.
On the night of December 31, as a result of an enemy drone hitting the house where Denys Kharchenko lived with his family, he was seriously injured. All this time, doctors were fighting for his life, but his injuries were incompatible with life. Denys Kharchenko had been serving in the patrol police of Odesa region since 2015.
On the night of December 31, Russians attacked the residential, logistics and energy infrastructure of Odesa region. As a result of hits in one of the residential buildings, fires broke out in apartments from the second to the sixth floors. The facade on the fifth and sixth floors was partially destroyed. Firefighters rescued eight people, including one child.
Six people were injured, including three children. The facades and glazing of several multi-storey residential buildings were also damaged. Civilian cars were damaged by fire.
On the night of December 31, Russians attacked Ukraine with 127 Shahed, Gerber and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles. According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense neutralized 101 enemy Shahed, Gerber and other types of drones in the north, south and east of the country. There were 20 strike UAVs at 11 locations.
At the end of 2025, Russians regularly attacked Odesa region. On the morning of December 30, Russia also attacked Odesa region with attack drones. Despite the active work of air defense forces, damage to industrial and port infrastructure in the Odesa region was recorded. A civilian vessel in the port area was damaged. There were no fires. There were no reports of fatalities or injuries.
