The virtual museum is dedicated to the units that are now part of the operational command "South".

The museum plans to be constantly updated with new exhibits and their stories. Serhiy Hutsalyuk, head of the Southern Interregional Department of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, historian, activist and serviceman, contributed to its creation.

It should be noted that this is not the first museum in Ukraine dedicated to the war with Russia. An interactive online museum of the Russian-Ukrainian war was opened in the Severne military command before the full-scale invasion, and a classic Museum of the Russian-Ukrainian War was opened in Kryvyi Rih last year. There are also museums dedicated to the war with Russia in Dnipro, Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Zbarazh.

Operational Command "South" is an operational unit of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southern part of Ukraine in five regions. The headquarters is located in the city of Odesa. Area of responsibility: Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kherson regions. The land territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as a separate military land area, belongs to the area of responsibility of the Southern Operational Command, taking into account the peculiarities defined by the law on the occupied territories.
