The occupation court in Simferopol fined Crimean Tatar journalist and journalist Lenora Dulber a total of 33 thousand rubles (17 thousand hryvnias). The decision was made under two articles: discrediting the Russian army and creating extremist materials.
This was reported by the public initiative 'Tribunal. The Crimean Episode".
This decision was preceded by the events of December 4, 2025, when Russian security forces searched her home in Sudak, seized her computer equipment and took the journalist to Simferopol for some time. Human rights activists are convinced that it was the preparation of these administrative protocols that became a formal pretext for the December search and detention of the Merkez talk show host.
Lenora Dulber is a political scientist, sociologist, journalist and Crimean Tatar activist. She hosts the talk show "Merkez" and co-authored a monograph-sociological study "Crimean Tatars in the Transformation of the Political Space".
The basis for the accusations of extremism was Dulber's scientific work entitled "Crimean Tatars in the Transformation of the Political Space", which was found by the security forces in the funds of the Crimean Scientific Library named after Franko. The occupiers claim that the text of the monograph contains signs of justification of the activities of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and the religious organization Hizb ut-Tahrir. At the same time, the human rights community emphasizes the groundlessness of such accusations, as the study is a purely scientific work, and persecution for ideological beliefs and scientific activity has signs of a crime against humanity.
The situation provoked a sharp reaction in Ukraine, in particular, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Freedom of Speech officially condemned the actions of the occupation administration and called on international institutions to intervene in the case. According to analysts, this case is part of the systemic pressure on the intellectual elite of the Crimean Tatar people and an attempt to completely cleanse the information space of the peninsula from independent voices.
