Large-scale fires broke out in the Odesa region due to shelling

As a result of a massive enemy attack in the Odesa region, large-scale fires broke out at port and industrial infrastructure facilities and in the suburban area. Due to heavy smoke, specialists in radiation, chemical, and biological protection from the Odesa State Emergency Service conducted an inspection of the area.
This was reported by Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional State Administration.
According to him, rescue workers have now completely extinguished all fires. He also reported that, based on the results of specialized measurements, no threat of chemical or radiation contamination was detected.

Oleg Kipper also stated that there were no casualties.
As previously reported by Intent, on October 3, a motorman was killed as a result of a Russian strike on a civilian cargo ship flying the Liberian flag in one of the ports of the Odesa region. Three other crew members were injured. Rescuers evacuated 13 sailors to safety.
On September 29, at least eight people were injured in the Odesa region as a result of Russian strikes. A civilian enterprise, port infrastructure, a high school, an animal shelter, a private home, and vehicles were damaged.
At the“Loving Hearts” animal shelter, ten cats and three dogs were killed. The shelter’s director, Olga Shilimina, tried to put out the fire and save the animals during the attack.
