July was the most dangerous month for the Odesa region

During the first 17 days of July 2026, 141 air raid alerts were sounded in the Odesa region—almost as many as were sounded during the entire previous month.

This is according to datafrom the air raid alert statistics service Air-alarms.

While 162 air raid alerts were sounded in the region throughout the entire month of June, the number had already reached 141 in just the first 17 days of July. In other words, the frequency of air raid alerts in July has nearly doubled compared to the previous month—and this is without even taking the second half of the month into account.

The average duration of the alarms has also increased: while in June, a single alarm lasted an average of 36 minutes and 51 seconds, in July this figure rose to 43 minutes and 57 seconds.

The longest alarm in July sounded on the 12th at 9:18 p.m. and lasted 3 hours, 56 minutes, and 30 seconds —this is longer than the record-breaking alert in June, which was issued on June 7 at 8:52 p.m. and lasted 3 hours, 2 minutes, and 7 seconds.

The most recent alert, recorded as of July 17, sounded at 10:58 p.m. and lasted 1 hour, 16 minutes, and 6 seconds.

In both months, the most dangerous time of day remains the evening—the period from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.

However, the peak hours shifted slightly: while in June the highest number of alerts was issued around 10:00 p.m., in July the peak shifted to an earlier time in the evening—around 7:00 p.m.

The day of the week with the highest number of alerts has also changed: in June it was Monday, and in July—Wednesday.

During the first 17 days of July, the media reported 31 explosions in the Odesa region, according to OSINT monitoring data. This is already more than double the figure for the entire month of June, when 13 such reports were recorded.

On July 17 alone, there were four reports of explosions, with the last one occurring at 7:53 p.m. in Chornomorsk. By comparison, the last report of an explosion in June came on June 24 at 9:32 p.m. from Odesa.

While the number of air raid alerts was significantly lower at the beginning of the year, it began to rise in the spring and peaked in the summer.
