In the Odesa region, a TCC employee struck a two-year-old child

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of a traffic accident in Balta, Odesa Oblast, in which a two-and-a-half-year-old child was injured.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast.

Preliminary findings by law enforcement indicate that an employee of the district territorial center for recruitment and social support, who was conducting a mobilization drill, struck a two-and-a-half-year-old boy after the child wandered away from his father, with whom he had been standing on the road, and fled the scene of the traffic accident.

The child sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital. An investigative team from the local police unit is working at the scene.

Investigators have entered information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations under Article 286 (violation of traffic safety rules or transport operation rules by persons driving vehicles, resulting in bodily injury) and Article 135 (abandonment of a person in danger) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The driver was detained.
