On the night of August 9, Russian troops carried out one of the most massive strikes on the Odesa region, using 11 missiles of various types and up to 100 drones, including jet-powered drones and “Banderole”-type loitering munitions. According to military officials, most of the missiles approached their targets along a ballistic trajectory, which makes them significantly more difficult to intercept.
Residential buildings, a hotel, and civilian and energy infrastructure were damaged. The fire also destroyed and damaged local residents’ vehicles. According to preliminary data, eight people were injured. Medical personnel assess the condition of seven of them as moderate. Most of the victims sustained shrapnel wounds.
