In the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol, the invaders have developed a children’s board game called “The Kherson Excavations,” based on artifacts illegally seized during the occupation. This propaganda project is being created against the backdrop of the destruction and alteration of the UNESCO World Heritage Site itself.

This was reported by Golos Kryma.

A team from the“Chersonesos Taurica” Museum-Reserve, which is controlled by the Russian occupiers, worked on the game in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol. It is noted that the institution’s staff developed each artifact based on original finds, including those illegally seized on the territory of Chersonesos Taurica as a result of unlawful excavations during the occupation.

It is known that one of the game’s characters was modeled after Stanislav Ryzhov, the occupation head of the“Gorodishche” sector within the “Gorodishche and Necropolis” department.

The board game titled “Chersonesos Excavations” was nominated in the “Game and Toy Prototypes” category in the finals of the second season of the All-Russian “Native Toy” competition. The competition is held on the orders of Vladimir Putin.

As Intent previously reported, the occupiers have unearthed new structures from ancient urban settlements on the territory of Chersonesos Taurica in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The invaders also discovered new artifacts at the site of the ancient city. Conducting these excavations without Ukraine’s permission constitutes a violation of international law.

Chersonesos Taurica is an ancient city-state founded by Greek colonists in the 6th century B.C. in southwestern Crimea (within the boundaries of modern-day Sevastopol). This city was one of the main centers for the spread of Christianity in the region and one of the “7 Wonders of Ukraine.” In 2013, the site was inscribed on the World Heritage List. Since 2014, the Russian occupying authorities have been conducting illegal excavations and large-scale construction projects there.
