In Odesa, hundreds of thousands of people are left without water and heat

Russian shelling has left hundreds of thousands of people in Odesa without water and hundreds of homes without heat. Energy and utility companies are working to restore water and heat supply using backup power sources.
This was reported by Oleksiy Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine.
Last night, Russian troops again targeted Ukraine's civilian and energy infrastructure. Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Sumy and other regions were hit.
In Odesa, about 300,000 people were left without water supply due to the power outage. Almost 200 houses were left without heating. Power engineers and utilities are working on the ground to restore power to systems where backup power sources are available.
In Kyiv, 2.6 thousand homes have been temporarily cut off from heat supply due to the strikes on heat generating facilities, and another 1.1 thousand homes remain without heat due to previous damage to the Darnytska CHPP. In Dnipro, heat supply to 10,000 customers has been temporarily suspended, and modular boiler houses and alternative energy sources are being used for social institutions.
Oleksiy Kuleba emphasized that the attacks are aimed at leaving Ukrainians without basic services in the middle of winter, but the restoration work is ongoing.
Around one in the morning, Russian troops attacked Odesa once again. An infrastructure facility was severely damaged, and a fire broke out after the attack. Glass in nearby buildings was smashed, and 15 private cars caught fire. A nine-story residential building was also damaged: part of the facade wall and the roof were destroyed, and a fire broke out on the top floor.
On the night of February 10, Russians once again shelled the energy infrastructure of Odesa region with unmanned aerial vehicles. The attack partially cut off power to settlements in three communities in the region. Critical infrastructure facilities were switched to backup power from generators.
