Hundreds of millions paid for destroyed housing in Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv continues to pay compensation for housing damaged by the war. Over UAH 160.7 million has already been reimbursed to the city residents as part of the state program eRestoration.
This was announced during a briefing on the restoration of the city's infrastructure with the participation of representatives of the Housing and Utilities Department, the State Architectural and Construction Control Department, and the Energy Efficiency Center.
According to official data, residents have submitted 5388 applications for compensation. Of these, 3,071 applications have already been approved for over UAH 163.1 million. More than UAH 160.7 million has been paid out directly to 3,042 co-owners of damaged property.
The compensation procedure involves several stages. First, a technical inspection of the housing is carried out. This is the responsibility of the SACC department, which arrives on site as soon as the security situation is stabilized. Based on the results of the inspection, the owners are issued certificates that serve as the basis for payments.
Specialists are working in an intensified mode: while in 2023 they inspected 1008 objects, in 2025 they inspected 2128. Since the beginning of this year, 240 more damaged facilities have been inspected.
You can apply for an inspection either in person or remotely - via e-mail or by calling the relevant department.
Payments are made in two stages. After each tranche, the targeted use of funds is checked. In case of violations, the money will have to be returned.
In addition, Mykolaiv has additional recovery programs. In particular, condominiums can take advantage of the Restore Your Home program, which provides grants of up to UAH 10 million. An innovation is that in case of significant damage, residents can also install an individual heating point.
As previously reported by Intent, 671 housing vouchers totaling UAH 1.3 billion have been approved for internally displaced persons in Mykolaiv region.
IDPs can also get help with employment. Employment centers offer vocational training, retraining and support for starting a business.
