Gas stations in Crimea have resumed operations, but prices have not gone down

The number of gas stations in Crimea where fuel can be purchased has increased. However, despite the promises of the occupying authorities, prices have not fallen, and the quality has deteriorated significantly.

One local activist said that gas station displays currently do not show the price of fuel at all, but only indicate the amount in stock. Gasoline costs 300 rubles per liter, which is a high price. As a result, many private car owners are cutting back on their trips. Demand for gasoline to fuel generators remains steady.
Fuel quality has declined sharply; in particular, it now contains a high proportion of sediment. Using such gasoline results in breakdowns in cars and even generators.
“Thereare now many videos showing what happens to cars when they are filled with gasoline from Crimean gas stations. This happened after Russia authorized the sale of ‘Euro-3’ standard gasoline from July 1 through December 31, 2026. When filling up with this gasoline, drivers are forced to use additives, which makes operating a car even more expensive,” the activist noted.
Earlier, it was reported that, according to official statistics, in June 2026, Sevastopol became the most expensive region in the Russian Federation in terms of gasoline prices. The average price reached nearly 119 rubles per liter, and diesel fuel cost nearly 139 rubles. At the same time, the consumer price index for gasoline rose by nearly 20% over the year.
However, the actual situation turned out to be even worse. By mid-July, AI-95 gasoline at some gas stations in Sevastopol cost between 197 and 245 rubles per liter, while on the “black market” it was selling for 400 rubles. By comparison, in Moscow during the same period, a liter of gasoline cost about 74 rubles.
