Following a public prosecution by the autonomy's prosecutor's office, the court convicted five former employees of the Crimean prosecutor's office in absentia of high treason. Each of the defendants was sentenced to 13 years in prison with full confiscation of their property.
This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.
Although the official report does not name the defendants, according to the sources of Krym.Realii, they are Artur Zhuk, Alla Davydka, Ilya Shadrin, Volodymyr Korobtsov and Dilyara Kuleshova.
The investigation proved that after the beginning of the occupation of Crimea in 2014, these individuals betrayed their oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people and began to actively build a career in the illegally created bodies of the aggressor. In particular, they took up positions of deputy and assistant prosecutors in the Chornomorsk and Krasnogvardeisky districts, as well as in Yalta and the office of the so-called 'Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crimea'. One of the convicts worked as an assistant prosecutor to supervise the observance of laws in the execution of criminal sentences.
Through their work, the convicts actually ensured the establishment and functioning of the occupation justice system on the peninsula. Thus, they directly assisted representatives of the aggressor country in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine. Since the traitors are currently in the temporarily occupied territory, their sentences will begin to run from the moment of their actual detention.
In particular, the former commander of a DPR unit from Simferopol will stand trial for torturing prisoners of war and civilians. The prisoners were beaten, starved and forced to eat porridge with sand and stones.
Law enforcement officers served a notice of suspicion to the former commander of the "Kramatorsk Guards Separate Commandant Regiment of the 1st Army Corps of the DPR" of ill-treatment of prisoners of war and civilians, which was carried out by a group of people by prior conspiracy. According to the investigation, the resident of Simferopol, together with his subordinates, after the seizure of part of the region, held military personnel of the Defense Forces and civilians falsely accused of crimes in the building of the former SBU in Donetsk.
