Drone found in Moldovan village near border with Odesa region

On the morning of March 17, the Moldovan Border Police found the wreckage of a Russian drone in the village of Tudora, Stefan Voda district, near the Ukrainian border in Odesa region.

This was reported by the press service of the Moldovan Coronation Police.

Moldovan border guards said that the device was active and, according to a visual assessment, was equipped with an explosive charge. Specialists of the explosives and equipment department conducted a controlled explosion.

As a result of a nighttime attack by Russians in the south of Odesa region on March 17, energy, industrial, and port infrastructure facilities were damaged. The territories of enterprises and some equipment were damaged. Fires broke out and were quickly extinguished by rescuers. There were no fatalities or injuries. However, the attack has caused power outages in some localities. Critical infrastructure has been switched to backup power.

According to the South Air Command, on the night of March 17, starting at 18:00 on March 16, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 178 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmass and other types of attack drones.

According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m. on March 17, air defense defenses neutralized 154 enemy UAVs. There were 22 strike UAVs hit at 12 locations, as well as downed UAVs falling (wreckage) at two locations.

In addition, on the morning of March 14, at 1:30 a.m., the Moldovan border police received a report from the Ukrainian authorities about a Shahed drone flying over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova in the eastern region of the country in the direction of Oleksandrivka-Ukrainka.

The area where the flight might have occurred was checked by the Moldovan police, and so far, Border Police patrols have not found any objects or elements that pose a threat to the safety of citizens.
