Court finds head of Kerch occupation administration guilty of high treason

Ukraine has passed a verdict in absentia against the so-called 'head of the administration' of the temporarily occupied Kerch. The investigation found that it was Oleg Katorhin, who took over as head of the occupation mayor's office in October 2024.

The collaborator continues to fulfill his 'duties' on the side of the enemy to this day, but from now on he has the official status of a convicted criminal under Ukrainian law. He was found guilty of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The collaborator was sentenced to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property. He is also banned from holding public office for 12 years.
The investigation proved that in October 2024, the citizen of Ukraine voluntarily headed the occupation administration of the city. In this position, Katorhin ensured the work of the occupying authorities, implemented the Kremlin's decisions and facilitated the integration of Kerch into the Russian government system. Through his activities, the convict directly helped to strengthen the occupation regime on the peninsula, where he continues to work to this day.
Earlier, the former deputy head of the State Environmental Inspectorate in Crimea was convicted of high treason. She continues to work in the occupation Ministry of Ecology of the peninsula and receives awards from the Russian authorities.

As the investigation established, in 2014, the Ukrainian citizen violated her oath as a civil servant and voluntarily took the position of "Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea." She continued her career in the occupation authorities, and in October 2021 was appointed "Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources - Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Crimea", a position she holds to this day.
