The head of a warehouse of one of the border guard detachments in Odesa region was served a notice of suspicion of stealing military property of the engineering and aviation service worth about UAH 5.5 million.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, between June 2023 and September 2025, a serviceman, using his official position and having access to the property of a military unit, illegally seized equipment that was to be used for defense purposes.

We are talking about a large-scale shortage of military equipment - unmanned aerial vehicles, photographic equipment and ground control stations, among other things:

  • 54 sets of DJI Mavic 3 Pro and DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise M3E drones,
  • Seven sets of DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise UAVs,
  • Two sets of Sony RX1 Cameras,
  • Two sets of Sony Alpha A7R FullFrame cameras, E-mount,
  • A laptop and monitor for the VALK-1 unmanned aerial vehicle,
  • Two sets of laptops - a mobile agricultural player and a video recorder from the Leleka-100 UAV.

The suspect disposed of this equipment at his own discretion. He sold military property to civilians, volunteers, and even pawned it through an online classifieds service.

The shortage was discovered during an inventory of the warehouse. As a result, according to law enforcement, the state suffered losses of about UAH 5.5 million. The serviceman was served a notice of suspicion for the theft of other military property by a serviceman through abuse of office committed under martial law.

The court imposed a measure of restraint in the form of detention with an alternative of bail in the amount of UAH 5.4 million. The sanction of the article charged against him provides for up to 10 to 15 years in prison.
