A whistleblower about the TCC in Odesa region was threatened with imprisonment, but not imprisoned

The Rozdilnyansky District Court of Odesa Region sentenced the woman to five years in prison, but commuted her actual sentence to probation for three years.

As stated in the court's verdict, the woman was found guilty of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.

The obstruction consisted of publishing information in a Viber group with more than 300 members about the location of checkpoints of the notification groups of territorial centers of recruitment and social support. A resident of the village of Kamianka, Rozdilnyansky district, was engaged in such notification from September to December 2025. She illustrated all her posts with relevant photos.

The court took into account that the accused had no previous convictions, had a positive character, and had voluntarily transferred 25 thousand hryvnias to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, she sincerely repented and cooperated with the investigation.

Sentences against people who reported the location of checkpoints or the movement of alert groups are not unusual in Odesa region, and not always involve civilians. For example, in January, the State Bureau of Investigation sent to court the case of two servicemen accused of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For a year, two officers of a law enforcement agency helped men of conscription age avoid mobilization. They passed on information about the locations of mobile checkpoints and the current places of delivery of draft notices in one of the communities of Odesa region.

Also in February, a former special forces intelligence officer was exposed in Odesa for spying for Russia, photographing checkpoints and transmitting data on military exercises. The court found him guilty of high treason.
