The Bilyaevsky District Court of Odesa Region found a native of the village of Hlybochok, Podilsky (formerly Kotovsky) district of Odesa Region, guilty of collaboration.
As stated in the court' s verdict, the man was found guilty of voluntarily taking a position related to the performance of organizational, administrative or administrative and economic functions in illegal authorities established in the temporarily occupied territory, including the occupation administration of the aggressor state.
This violation of the law is punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of ten to fifteen years, with or without confiscation of property. In fact, the court sentenced him to eight years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold positions in state authorities, public administration and local self-government bodies related to the performance of organizational, administrative or administrative and economic functions for a period of twelve years and confiscation of property that is his personal property.
During the occupation of a part of Kherson region, the convict cooperated with the Russian authorities and became the so-called starosta of the village of Tryfonivka, Beryslav district, on June 3, 2022. He then acted as a representative of the occupation administration - compiling lists of local residents, passing their passport data to the occupiers, distributing salaries and recruiting people to work for the occupiers.
The accused did not appear in court. The case was considered in absentia in a special court proceeding, which means that the collaborator will serve his sentence after he is detained.
