A foreign vessel caught fire following an attack on a port in the Odesa region

For the second day in a row, the Russian army has been striking civilian port infrastructure in the Odesa region. During the latest attack on one of the ports, a foreign merchant ship was damaged, and a fire broke out on board.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

According to the agency, a civilian merchant ship flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis was damaged. After being hit, a fire broke out on board, which was quickly extinguished by rescue workers. No crew members were injured.

The attack also damaged cargo trucks that were on the port premises. Two drivers were killed, and two other people were injured. The injured received the necessary medical care.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority noted that in the last 24 hours alone, Russian strikes have claimed the lives of three people who worked in Ukrainian ports.

Despite constant shelling, the port sector continues to operate. Rescue workers, medical personnel, and emergency responders were mobilized to address the aftermath of the attack.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority emphasized that Russia continues to attack civilian infrastructure, civilians, and international shipping.
