A damaged civilian vessel, a burned-down school: the aftermath of Russian attacks in the south

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have carried out strikes on the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions—port infrastructure, a school, and dozens of settlements came under attack. One person was killed, and 18 others were wounded.
According to Georgy Reshetilov, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, yesterday morning the enemy attacked port infrastructure in the Mykolaiv district with a “Shahed”-type strike UAV.
A civilian vessel was damaged as a result of the strike. There were no civilian casualties.
On the night of August 6, the occupiers attacked the Horokhiv community in the Bashtanka district eight times using “Molniya”-type UAVs. The strike damaged a school building, where a fire also broke out. There were no casualties.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, over the past 24 hours, 38 settlements in the region, including the regional capital, were subjected to enemy airstrikes, drone attacks, and artillery shelling.
Russian forces targeted critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential neighborhoods—damaging 9 high-rise buildings and 12 private homes. The occupiers also destroyed a gas station, outbuildings, agricultural equipment, and private vehicles.
One person was killed and 18 others were wounded as a result of the Russian aggression.
