This year, the occupiers interrogated 108 people in Crimea

In the first nine months of 2025, the Russian occupation structures in Crimea recorded 108 cases of illegal interrogations, surveys and 'conversations' with local residents.
This was reported by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center in its report "Analysis of Human Rights Violations in the Occupied Crimea for 9 Months of 2025".
The total number of cases of persecution has increased compared to last year, and a change in the focus of repression is recorded. According to the data provided, the number of cases involving representatives of the Crimean Tatar people has decreased compared to the peak figures of 2023:
- 2025: 23 cases involving Crimean Tatars were recorded (out of 108 total).
- 2024: 33 cases involving Crimean Tatars were recorded (out of 89 total).
- 2023: 121 cases involving Crimean Tatars were recorded (out of 165 total).
While in 2023, the majority of recorded cases (about 73%) were directed against Crimean Tatars, in 2025 this percentage is much lower, although the overall pressure on civil society remains high, exceeding the figures for 2024.
In particular, in 9 months of 2025, 177 people were arrested and 100 detained. In 57 cases, the rights to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health were violated. 68 of the detainees are Crimean Tatars, and 18 of the 100 detainees are representatives of the Crimean Tatar people.
In addition, human rights activists recorded 25 cases of searches, half of which were conducted on Crimean Tatars. Eskender Bariiev, Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center and member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, noted that the hybrid deportation was a new stage of Russia's repression of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainian political prisoners.
