Socar has confirmed that on the night of August 18, as a result of the Russian attack on Odesa region with attack drones, its infrastructure was damaged.

This was reported by Forbes Ukraine.

Minval also stated that the property of an Azerbaijani company was damaged in the Odesa region. The publication noted that it was a series of direct hits, after which a fire broke out. All the tanks, the pumping station building, operator and weighing rooms, and technical facilities were damaged, and the fence was destroyed. The storage capacity of this oil depot is over 16 thousand cubic meters.

The amount of damage is being established, for which purpose an expert examination has been initiated, and urgent restoration work is underway.

The attack by Russian drones on the night of August 18 led to a fire, which was extinguished by a robot and a fire train from Ukrzaliznytsia. More than 100 rescuers, volunteers, firefighters from the National Guard of Ukraine and local fire brigades were responding to the attack. The attack also set fire to a two-story residential building, which, according to the State Emergency Service, was unoccupied.

The publication also noted that this was the second massive attack. Earlier, on August 8, the Russians launched about 10 UAVs at the same oil depot, causing partial destruction. Criminal proceedings were initiated over the incident. Two days after the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had a telephone conversation, and on August 11, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree allocating $2 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Also at that time, Caliber.Az reported that Azerbaijan could lift the arms embargo on Ukraine from its arsenals if Russia continues its actions against Baku's interests.
